surfing from the lab

i just found out that somehow i am able to connect wirelessly to the wifi hotspot in the library from the molgen lab. talk about amazing. now i really never have to leave this lab!

examples of how "tunnel vision"-ed i'd become. first, i had no idea the library had become a wifi hotspot. it had happened months ago. second, there are so many big projects in my field coming into the institute. i mean, seriously big important projects. wow. i've become too much of a labrat i guess. have failed to see what's going on around me. time to get myself back into the thick of things i suppose.

we just set up a wireless network at home, so my old (but trusty) laptop is on it. my laptop which wasn't made for broadband connecting! it's a silly thing. am sure lots of people take it for granted that they can connect wirelessly to the net. am sure i'll be one of them in a few month. but while the novelty of it all hasn't worn off..sobrang COOL!! :) (now to figure out how to make this thing secure!)
